OME (2019)

Full of emotions, yet frustrating

A sudden death of the mother of Elias, nine years old boy, during the Lebanon war. Where all the emotions and frustrations have begun.

A tale of Elias, A boy who lives in a simple city .he used to go to city church frequently as a choir singer cute kid, but he was raised under oppression by obeying rules that were dictated to him either by the churchman or his father who taught him to obey what's said to him without any feelings or thinking.

Before Elias's mother died he was a very committed child and he really did so well on memorizing the church rules and education but after that, everything broke down during the peek he took looking to his dead mother from outside the window being washed and prepared to the coffin. the death of his mother devastated him and his father forced him to just be strong and not to cry or show his emotions and that made the kid soul tear down more and more till he challenged his childlike innocence and got determined to bring her back from Jesus.

Elias saw that Jesus took his mother with no right to do that,so in his naïve attempts to get his mother back he stole the statue of Mother Mary from the church in return of his mother as he saw it is his right to take mother mary from Jesus as Jesus did to his mother even though his love was stronger and his innocent feelings ruled that he treated it (mother mary status) as his mother so he was talking to her and he brought her to his place where he offered her food and made her tea in a human portrait of mercy.
he also studied with her the 10 commands in an attempt to ask God to bring his mother back.

the sun came out and the stolen statue made a big hassle in the small city.
the churchman gathered all the city and said that the person who stole mother mary statue is now cursed and also the city if we didn't find the thief...

A few days later fire took place in many of small houses and one of them is Elias's so his father was accused of stealing the statue and he was forced to swear in front of people that he didn't steal mother mary statue and he went to do that with Elias who looked at him with his eyes full of fear.

After that the churchman got nothing to do else getting another statue of mother mary and that made broke Elias anger as from his kid eye of sight Jesus got his mother mary back in the church and Elias didn't.so he ran to his house as fast as he can and broke the old statue into pieces, three of them.

Elias repeatedly went to extreme lengths as he questioned the fairness of what happened and everything around. as he is just a little boy who genuinely needs his mother.

At the end, the question is, how many pieces his heart had been broken to...
